What Should You Do After A Dallas Truck Accident?

The actions you take soon after a truck accident can have a major impact on your case.

Call Tate Law Offices, P.C., Truck Wreck Lawyers immediately:
Time is very important after a truck accident. Important pieces of evidence such as the tractor-trailer’s black box, GPS data, driver’s logs and even the tractor-trailer itself have a way of disappearing. This evidence may be needed to win your truck accident case. Mere minutes after an 18-wheeler truck accident, the trucking company is working diligently with its truck accident attorneys to prove they are not responsible. Tate law offices want to make sure they have access to all the information regarding the wreck before it has been tampered with by the trucking company. They want to prevent crucial evidence from being lost or destroyed by the trucking company. Case in point: In one of our truck accident cases, they put more than $3.7 million dollars into our clients’ pockets largely because they gained access to the 18-wheeler accident site and witnesses immediately after the wreck. Doing so allowed them to document and uncover evidence that might have otherwise been lost.

Don’t talk to the trucking company, its insurance company, or its lawyers:
Trucking companies and their insurers move fast after a crash. They want to protect their interests. Don’t speak to them. Don’t let your family members speak to them, either. Any statement you make can and most likely will be used against you. Even a few simple words can be taken out of context and used as a means to deny your truck accident claim. If you are contacted by anyone, refer them to your lawyer at Tate Law Offices, P.C., so Tatelawoffices can protect your interests.

Get proper medical treatment and follow your doctor’s orders:
Your health should be your top priority. Even if you do not have health insurance, they will work to help you to get the medical care you need.

Keep a file. So you don’t lose anything, use a file or folder to store your medical bills, accident-related expenses, insurance letters and other important documents. Don’t worry if it is not organized – Tatelawoffices will sort it out.

Take notes and photos if possible. Write down the accident details while they are still fresh in your mind. Save any photographs you have of the accident scene and your injuries.

Why Did Your Dallas Truck Accident Occur?

One of the first questions you will have about your truck accident is, “Why did it happen?” Our job is to find that answer for you.

In our experience, there are many reasons why collisions occur in Dallas between large inbound and outbound commercial trucks and passenger vehicles. Unfortunately, one reason comes up too often: Driver error.

In fact, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) reports that 2,554 of 7,368 deadly truck crashes that happened in the U.S. during a recent two-year period – or roughly one-third – involved driver errors.

Uproar as company neglect releasing corpse of UI student who died WAW Soap factory

It was indeed a black Tuesday night for students of the University of Ibadan when the news of a student of the institution; Gbadebo Richard, who lost his life working at a factory called Henkel Global Nigeria Limited situated at Oluyole Estate, Opposite Yale 3, Ibadan, spread like a wildfire.

Facts gathered revealed that the deceased; Richard, was on a night shift when the horrible incident happened. In accordance with what was received, it was reported that the incident happened around 6:30 am to 6:45 am; just a couple of minutes away from 7:00, when he was supposed to have been done with his night shift.

It was reported that Richard was pouring some powder in the mixing machine and in the process, his hands got stuck in and the machine eventually swallowed him.

As soon as the incident reached the students and his course mates, the UI Student’ union under the leadership of Akeju mobilised a few students who are still around to pay a consolation visit to the family of the deceased but to the surprise of many, more horrible news was let out of the dark.

On the arrival of the Students’ Union representatives, the Hall Warden of the Nnamdi Azikwe Hall, and the other students, it was revealed that none of the supervisors were at the duty post where he was stationed, his corpse was at the machine and they were not bothered but fully operational, and the management officials were reluctant in releasing the remnants of the deceased.

As gathered, all that was left of him was his legs because he was “overwhelmed” by the machine.

The inhumane treatment of the management of the factory showed its stringent conspicuous colors when there was a strong refusal from the company to release his remains for his parents to lay him to rest and what was more shocking was that the management did not deem it fit to send any delegate from the company to console the family of the deceased, at least.

The family of the deceased disclosed that it was a fierce struggle for them before the remains of the boy were eventually released and when it was, they were packed in a cement bag and handed to them after they had loose the screw of the machine he was operating before his last minute.

The family of the deceased disclosed that it was a fierce struggle for them before the remains of the boy were eventually released and when it was, they were packed in a cement bag and handed to them after they had loose the screw of the machine he was operating before his last minute.

Gbadebo Richard was a 20-year-old 300L student of the department of European Studies at the University of Ibadan, he was the only boy his father had.

The students of the University of Ibadan are calling on the government and concern agencies to get justice for Richard and put the nonchalance of the company into check.

Two pastors who defrauded millions from unsuspecting victims will spend at least 26 years in prison.

Pastor Glory Okeoghene Aberefa and Reverend Vincent Okpogo have been convicted and sentenced to 16 and 10 years imprisonment respectively by Justice F. N. Azinge of the Delta State High Court sitting in Otor-Udu.

The duo, alongside their company, Mustard Seed Micro Investment Limited, were prosecuted by the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. $2.5bn Alleged Stolen Crude: Timi Frank Calls For Sack Of Mele Kyari over his complicity in the alleged $2.5billion stolen crude oil sold in China.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has called for the immediate sack of the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engr. Mele Kyari, over his complicity in the alleged $2.5billion stolen crude oil sold in China.

An online news platform recently revealed that about 48 million barrels of Nigeria's Bonny Light Crude, valued at $2.5 billion was stolen, sold in China and the proceed was allegedly shared by some top officials of the present administration. Frank had in a statement following the revelation last week, called for the immediate arrest, investigation and prosecution of all those involved in the sale and diversion of the proceeds of the crude oil.

The political activist in a statement in Abuja on Monday specifically called for the sack and prosecution of Kyari following new evidence concerning his central role in the diversion of the nation’s common wealth as published by the same online portal. Frank insisted that the new damning facts, laced with documentary evidence, only goes to show that the corruption level in the APC-led federal government, stinks to the skies with the President, General Muhammadu Buhari, being silent and unfortunately giving the impression of his complicity.

He expressed total disgust with the General Buhari-led government and accused it of being determined to cover up the theft of the $2.5 billion crude “despite the expose’ of this wicked and criminal act against Nigeria and Nigerians which has opened the country to international ridicule and shame.” He urged the Government of the United States and all well-meaning nations to immediately call and impress it on General Buhari that the perpetrators of this dastardly act of criminality concerning the stolen $2.5 billion crude oil sold in China should be immediately arrested and prosecuted.

He described it as absurd for the perpetrators to have carried out the heist under the watchful eyes of General Buhari who doubles as the Minister of Petroleum Resources and also carries the toga of Africa’s No. 1 Anti-Corruption Crusader. He noted that based on the attempt by the Buhari-led government to suppress the “exposed”, the online platform has further released more damning evidence about the sleaze which comprised of the letters and messages exchanged between the NNPC, officials the federal government and the legal representative of the whistleblower, SAMANO SA DE CV.

He insisted that Kyari should not be allowed to spend another 24 hours as GMD of NNPC, following the release of a throve of such damning evidence that are currently in public domain. “The NNPC GMD has so many explanations to give to Nigerians as to the whereabouts or otherwise of the purported stolen $2.5billion crude oil sold in China. “Kyari has to provide answers to this weighty allegations and Buhari’s refusal to order for an immediate investigation, which should trigger a suspension or sack of the NNPC GMD, by remaining silent can only mean acquiescence and complicity in the $2.5billion crude theft,” Frank said.

The new evidence as released, disclosed how the whistleblower wrote to the NNPC GMD on the crude theft and his request for the payment of his compensation for having blown the lid on the illegal sale of the 48million barrels of stolen crude oil in line with the whistleblower policy of the Federal Government. “Nigerians must stand up now to ask questions as it concerns the theft and sale of the stolen crude oil and the whereabouts of the $2.5 billion proceeds,” Frank declared.
END
Signed Comrade Timi Frank Political Activist and Ex-Deputy National Publicity Secretary, APC, Abuja.

He urged Nigerians to stand up now, ask questions as it concerns the theft and sale of the stolen crude oil and the whereabouts of the $2.5 billion proceeds.

Features of the New Apple glass now on Samsung's smart glasses with a killer feature

Samsung's Apple Glass rival revealed in new patent.

Apple Glass is still shrouded in mystery, but yet another new smart glasses patent reveals how its competition will stack up. The latest pitch for a mixed reality wearable hails from Samsung, and seems to borrow the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3's best rumored feature: a navigational bezel.

In fact, based on a report from PatentlyApple, the Samsung smart glasses could take several cues from the company's smartwatches. A patent granted last week suggests the glasses' interface will look similar to the Tizen OS found on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2, and may be steered by a touch bezel built into the frame.

This is merely a patent, so there's no guarantee its content will materialize in Samsung's debut smart glasses. But it does clue us in to how the company might approach bringing an Apple Glass rival to market.

Apple is prepping a proprietary augmented reality OS, which is allegedly codenamed Project Starboard and looks pristine in the glassOS concept art we've seen so far.

Samsung's answer could be a pared down version of Tizen OS that offers access to select apps — potentially including smart home, music and messaging controls — and won't distract from the physical world.

We haven't learned yet about how Apple Glass will be navigated aside from speculation the of gesture controls, so Samsung's pitch for an in-frame capacitative touch system could hold some answers for future smart glasses.

Facebook, Google and Huawei are currently planning smart glasses, and each company's patents propose solutions for the complications of cramming advanced tech into tiny, frame-shaped shells.

See Reasons Why Apple Would make AR glasses

Apple ARKit is already bringing augmented reality to the forefront of consumer technology – but it's just a platform. It's long been suggested that the real future of Apple’s augmented reality road map would be AR glasses.

After all, Apple’s in need of a new product category. The last time the tech giant launched an inarguably successful new product line was the iPad – and even that has proved difficult to maintain momentum in.

AR is an exciting new area, and one in which Apple (at least in hardware terms) wouldn’t have much competition in, at least in the present with a mainstream and consumer focus.

Tim Cook has sung the praises of AR tech, going so far as to say augmented reality use will become as common as "eating three meals a day".

"A significant portion of the population of developed countries, and eventually all countries, will have AR experiences every day," he said during the 2016 Utah Tech tour, before casting shade on VR.

"I can't imagine everyone in here getting in an enclosed VR experience while you're sitting in here with me," said Cook to those assembled for the Utah talk.

"AR is going to take a while, because there are some really hard technology challenges there," he added.

"But it will happen, it will happen in a big way, and we will wonder when it does, how we ever lived without it. Like we wonder how we lived without our phone today."

5G is on it way: The 5G could make augmented reality mainstream.

Who's the AR Glasses competitor?

Right now, there are a number of augmented reality glasses already on the market from companies like Vuzix, Epson and Vue. But many of them are reserved for enterprise use (in big businesses), are being used by developers or have been built for a rather niche purpose.

There are also mixed reality headsets, like the Microsoft Hololens 2, which sits somewhere between VR and AR. As well as one of the most exciting AR headsets, the Magic Leap One.

The main difference between these devices and the promise of AR glasses made so infamous by Google Glass, is AR glasses were tipped to be smaller, slimmer and could easily be mistaken for regular glasses. The Magic Leap One is an extraordinary piece of kit, but not exactly what Apple would have in store with AR specs.

There could also be mounting competition from other big tech giants. For example, in July, details were leaked about a patent, which suggests Samsung might be working on its own pair of AR specs.

What's more, according to a patent filed by Huawei at the World Intellectual Property Organization (and spotted by LetsGoDigital), the company is experimenting with a pair of AR glasses that are lightweight but only work when you insert your smartwatch into them.

It's also not a surprise to hear that Facebook, which owns Oculus, has also been rumored to be working on its own AR eyewear.

According to a 2017 patent, Facebook's AR glasses could use a ‘waveguide display' to combine computer graphics with the real world – essentially an advanced method of giving the illusion of depth on specs right in front of your face.

Based on the patent images, the AR glasses could look just like a regular pair of glasses, which means there will be lot of complex, miniaturized technology to get right before they can be released.

This means Apple may not be releasing its own AR glasses anytime soon, but its competitors might be just a year or two away.

How much does the New Apple Glass Cost: See Price And Release Date

Apple Glass release date

Apple Glass is coming 2023 at the earliest, according to a report from Bloomberg. An Apple VR headset positioned to compete with the Oculus Rift 2 is closer to launch.

But according to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo — perhaps the most reputable and reliable Apple expert — Apple Glass won't be ready to ship until 2022 "at the earliest." However, a presentation shown internally at Apple and leaked to The Information sets the launch date as 2023, as Bloomberg suggested.

All could be wrong — Jon Prosser, a reputable Apple leaker, says Apple Glasses could come sooner than we thought. Prosser believes the launch is aimed for "March-June 2021."

Prosser also says the company will announce Apple Glass before it's ready to ship, much like it waited several months to sell the first-generation Apple Watch after its debut. Apple allegedly wants members of the media present for the unveiling, so it could wait until in-person tech events resume.

The company could plan to unveil the lenses as a "one more thing" announcement at its annual fall keynote, according to Prosser.

As of July 10, The Information reported that Apple Glass lenses had passed the prototype stage and entered trial production, and important milestone in bringing Apple's wearable device to market.

Apple VR headset vs. Apple Glasses

In addition to Apple Glass, the company is working on a VR headset that could be less complex and closer to launch.

The Apple VR headset reportedly features ultra-high-resolution screens and a cinematic speaker system that should enable realistic visual experiences, according to people who have seen prototypes.

Those sources also said the headset looks like a slimmer, fabric-swathed, Oculus Quest, but the design isn't final as the company continues testing to determine the ideal fit for most head shapes.

There's no word on price, though we don't expect it to be cheap. The Quest starts at $399, while HTC's Vive costs $799 and Microsoft's HoloLens 2 is a whopping $3,500.

Like its competitors, the Apple VR headset will reportedly benefit from its own App Store, where users can access gaming, video streaming and communications software. Voice assistant Siri will be tasked with controlling the headset, though a physical remote is reportedly being tested, too.

As for a potential release date, the VR headset is on pace to debut next year and be released in 2022.

Cut to the chase

  • What is it? A new Apple wearable, a pair of glasses using augmented reality tech
  • When is it out? May be announced in 2020, but would hit stores later
  • What will it cost? A source suggests $499 (roughly £410 / AU$765)

What will Apple AR glasses cost?

That’s a tough question, as there’s no real precedent for this sort of thing yet. The only rumor on that subject so far claims $499 (roughly £410 / AU$765) - not including any prescription charges.

Beyond that, Apple has been busy picking up companies with an interest in AR, which suggests it's prepping a product of its own – and recently Cook said that Apple had several new products in the pipeline that could "blow you away".

We've also seen a bunch of Apple patents appear recently, explaining how specially-designed lenses could be used to cast images on a user's eye, and how a touchscreen surface (like an iPhone or an iPad) could be used as a controller.

One patent points to glasses with adjustable opacity, which might help add focus to a video, for example, or aid visibility on a particularly bright day.

A glimpse at digital items placed in the real worldA glimpse at digital items placed in the real world

Apple also filed a patent for a catadioptric optical system – a series of lenses designed to project images into a user’s eyes – in early February this year.

In fact, Apple has been granted 53 patents, covering its AR wearable, 3D mapping technology, and a more intelligent iPhone Home screen, amongst others, as discovered by Patently Apple.

Perhaps most telling of all is a leaked injury report out of Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, which suggests Apple is working on a “prototype unit” which has resulted in eye injuries for two users.

Apple has also made a number of key AR talent hires over the years. According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple has poached a leading employee of Nasa for the project, hiring Jeff Norris, founder of the Mission Operations Innovation Office of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Lab.

He is said to be working as part of an augmented reality team being headed up by another poached talent, Dolby Labs executive Mike Rockwell.

Insights Of The Newly Yet To Be Released Apple Glasses Aimed For 2022

Apple Glass is expected to run on Starboard (or perhaps glassOS,) a proprietary operating system uncovered in the final version of iOS 13. The augmented reality framework shows up multiple times in code and text documents, meaning Apple is likely testing activation and application.

Here's everything else we know about the new Apple Glasses, including the potential release date, price, design and specs which will be discussed below, the usage and how to buy the new Apple Glass.

Latest Apple Glass news (updated July 15)

  • Apple Glass has competition —  the latest pitch for mixed reality smart glasses comes from Samsung, and seems to borrow the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3's best rumored feature: a navigational bezel.
  • A new report says that the Apple Glass lenses have passed the prototype stage and entered trial production.
  • Apple Glass might have a modular trick up its sleeve. The rumored pair of mixed reality glasses could feature swappable arms that each supply a distinct purpose or carry out a different function.
Read also: How much does the New Apple Glass Cost: See Price And Release Date

Apple Glasses price

According to Prosser the Apple Glasses are currently priced at $499, plus prescription fees. Now that may seem low, especially compared to competing augmented reality headsets like the Microsoft Hololens 2.

Hololens 2 has a price tag of $3,500 but a big part of of its cost comes from having all the electronics needed to run the AR experience built into the headset.

Apple Glass, rather, will rely on a companion iPhone for processing, so it will have significantly less parts and complexity than Hololens. It'll work more like the Vuzix Blade smart glasses, which have a built-in camera and Alexa integration.

Still, Vuzix Blade starts at $799. Apple's entry point is significantly more accessible, costing as much as some of it's top-specced smartwatches.

Apple Glass features: The purpose of this glasses

According to a Bloomberg report, the Apple AR Glasses will bring information from your phone to your face. Specifically, the eyewear "are expected to synchronize with a wearer’s iPhone to display things such as texts, emails, maps, and games over the user’s field of vision."

Apple also has plans for third-party apps, and is considering a dedicated app store, similar to how you get apps for the Apple TV and Apple Watch.

Furthermore, a patent granted to Apple has further fuelled the rumor that Apple Glass won’t need prescription lenses as the smartglasses will automatically adjust for people with poor eyesight using an “optical subassembley”. However, this patent could be for a standalone smartphone-powered VR headset or a second-generation pair of Apple smartglasses.

Apple Glasses design

The most current Apple Glass prototype reportedly looks like an “un-intimidating” pair of plastic glasses, while marketing materials suggest a Clark Kent-esque design.

It has a LiDAR scanner on the right temple, but no other cameras for privacy reasons (although that could change.) The glasses also come with a plastic stand with wireless chargers.

Being an accessory to the iPhone will definitely has implications on the Apple Glass design. Though the glasses won't be lightweight as your Ray-Ban aviators, they could be light enough and comfortable enough to work as everyday glasses.

There are no plans for the first generation of Apple Glass to come in a tinted variety. For the near future, you're stuck using your regular 'ole sun blockers. But if Apple Glass takes off, perhaps the company would consider expanding its offerings.

Apple Glass specs

There’s no known specs about the Apple Glass yet, but we can speculate based on what we know about the current tech. For example, it will at least have the same field of view (52-degrees) and resolution (47 ppi) as the Hololens 2.

If Apple aims to create a true augmented reality solution — as opposed to a heads-up display that shows 2D floating notifications or maps, like Google Glass — it’s reasonable to expect the Apple Glasses to connect directly to the iPhone on a dedicated Wi-Fi connection.

If the iPhone has to process all the video captured by the glasses’ cameras and send back the 3D imagery to the glasses at a very high frame per second rate (a bare minimum of 60Hz, with a 120Hz refresh being optimal), it will require a much higher bandwidth than what Bluetooth can provide.

As for battery life, we can also expect a minimum of three hours if Apple wants to be competitive although we can assume that people will be more forgiving about this — especially if Apple provides with some kind of wireless charging glasses case that can extend its operative time through the day like with the Apple AirPods.

Apple Glasses wishlist: What we is expected from Apple Inc.

Glasses that look like glasses: We would like some natural looking glasses and not a technical visible glasses which tells more about it being of technology, like the ones in the concepts that you see on this page. I’m sure that Apple wants the same thing. No one wants AR glasses that look like geek-wear exactly.

AR in full 3D: Some people would like just a heads-up display, but the true power of AR comes from full 3D integration. For Apple Glasses to be successful, you should be able to run any iOS AR app that currently works on the iPhone through the wearable device (Apple glass)

At least 8 hours of battery life: Assuming you're not running 3D AR apps all of the time and are periodically looking at notifications and 2D apps in between, Apple should be able to find a way to make Apple Glasses last through an average workday, though it may not happen in the first generation.

Apple AR glasses hardware: the evidence, the patents and the specs

The biggest and latest leak on that front has detailed a lot of things. According to Jon Prosser (a reliable leaker), the Apple Glasses will be called Apple Glass and will be capable of displaying information on both lenses, with a user controlling them via gestures both on and in front of the frames.

All the processing would apparently be handled by a connected iPhone, and Apple Glass supposedly wouldn't have conventional cameras but would have a LiDAR scanner to power AR experiences.

Other details from the source include that there apparently won't be a sunglasses version, as the display doesn't work with tinted lenses, that observers won't be able to tell the lenses are displaying anything, and that the frame - at least in a prototype - is made from plastic.

The same source also said that Apple is experimenting with a special Steve Jobs Edition version of the glasses. That would act like an Apple Watch Edition where the company sells a certain style of its product for a higher price.

Another source for Apple leaks - Mark Gurman at Bloomberg - has also said the previous information isn't correct though, so take all of this with a big pinch of salt.
